My first set of photos is based on the topic of concept. I
took various photos of different things around the school. These photos
included things that were old or broke.
I spent two lessons going round the school and taking photos that fit the
description of old or broken and have uploaded these to a post on my blog. Above is my favorite photo from the topic.
I like this photo because it shows lots of things. Firstly
it shows how dirty the school is from the dust and dirt inside of the vent.
Secondly it shows how old the school is from the old wooden handrails and last
of all it shows how broke the school is by the cracks and chips in the back
white wall.
The photo also shows different texture between the support
of the vent, the wall and the handrails. The floor also shows the start of a
design with the lines on the left side.
I think the photo could be improved if the quality of the
photo was better. I feel as if the photo is blurry when I increase the size of
the photo and that it takes away some of the sharper features of the original.
I asked two people what they thought of my photo. The first person liked it and talked about
the same reasons I said I liked it. The second person however disliked it. They
said that they didn’t like it because there was no main subject of the photo to
focus on and they did also mention that the photo was blurry.
Using my camera i took photos on various trips. I took some whilst walking and visiting the countryside and others whilst abroad. I decided to use these photos for the topic of an exhibition. This is my favorite photo I have taken from the topic of an exhibition. It is a photo of a dam in a valley I saw when out walking with my Dad.
I took the photo because I liked the scenery. I liked the various colors that are in the photo and thought that it would make a good photo. I feel that it is a good photo because it is clear and shows lots of different things in the photo. for example you can see flowers on the left, the dam and the water in the middle then the hills on each side of the dam. The main subject of the photo is the dam. this is shown in the photo as the dam is the biggest part of the photo and it follows the rule of thirds.
i think the photo could of been improved if I included more of the dam. In the photo I miss off the bottom left side of the dam. So to improve the photo I think I could of took the photo from further back or have zoomed out.
With this photo i again asked two people thought of the photo. This time both of them liked the photo. the first person said they liked the variety of colours I used in my photo.
Above is a professional photo at the same location as my photo. The professional photo focuses more on the dam where as my photo focuses more on the surrounding scenery. I like the professional photo however I feel that my photo is better and the two people I asked agreed. Both of these photos follow the rule of thirds as the dam is not just in the center in both of the photos.
When I was on holiday last summer I went diving. when I went I took a waterproof camera with me so I could take photos of the fish. This is my favorite photo of my trip and from my animal category on my blog.
I took this photo as this was one of the only fish I could get close to so that i could take the photo. This photo means a great deal to me as it reminds me of my holiday to Egypt which is my favorite holiday to date.
The photo focuses on the main subject which is the fish by the fish being the majority of the photo. the fish is also in the center so the photo does not follow the rule of thirds but the fish being in the center allows good detail of the fish' pattern on its scales. I also like that this photo looks very natural with the sea floor and the coral, it looks like everything is normal and nothing has been disturbed.
I think the photo could be improved if there was more than one fish in the photo. I think this would add more colour to the photo and therefore would improve the photo.
This time I asked 3 people what they thought of this photo. 2 people liked the photo and the third disliked the photo. The people who liked it said they liked because they liked the detail the fish was in as the fish is very clear and the background is blurry this adds more focus on the fish. the person who disliked it said that there wasn't enough colour in the photo so they didn't like it. They did say they might like it more if there was more colour.
This is a professional photo of a fish. Compare to my photo I think that the colour on this photo is stronger which would attract people towards this photo however I feel that the fish I took a picture of is more interesting than the fish in the professional photo. I also feel that the background is better in my photo as it shows detail such as the sea floor where as the background of the professional photo is just a dark blue. Like my photo the fish is in the center of the shot, the shot of the fish is a close up and takes sup the majority of the photo.
